Bob the Builder

You can call him Bob the Builder. My Bob the Builder that is...

Ryan and I have started to do a little building. I am a bit of a blog junkie, and I follow a Blog called Shanty 2 Chic that has so many fun DIY woodworking projects I have been wanting to try. She makes them dummy proof, by giving you step-by-step tutorials for all of her creations.

So for Christmas and my birthday, my parents spoiled us with a new saw and a really cool gadget called the Kreg Jig. All I know is that lots of people recommend it, and so far it has made our projects a breeze. With the help of my hot handy man husband, our new saw and Kreg jig, we built a fun frame for the mirror in one of our bathrooms. It was a really simple project. It literally took us 10 minutes to put together once we fixed my measurement screw up. I am not allowed to use the saw considering my track record with knives in the kitchen, but Ryan is really good at using it. We have a bunch of fun projects we want to try. We are starting small and quickly getting into some larger projects.

When Ryan and I were dating, he told me he wasn't much of a "handy" man. But since we've been married, I have been so impressed with his willingness to try. He has become quite the little fixer handy man. And he seems to enjoy our little projects too.

..PRIMARY..

Ryan and I have been called to teach Primary in our ward.  Since we moved to the family ward, we sort of expected primary or nursery, because that's where all newlyweds seem to end up. But we are thankful for the opportunity to get to hang out with kids during church instead of adults, after all, kids are so much more fun. Haha. They put us in as team teachers of the 5 & 6 year-olds. It is nice being able to prepare for our lesson together and that Ryan and I get to teach together each week. I love watching Ryan interact with the kids. He does a great job and I know he's going to be a great Dad someday. Every week after church we are both exhausted, keeping up with the kids and keeping them in order for 2 hours is a lot of work. High 5 to all the Mom's out there that chase their kids around all day every day. We love our cute kids- there are 6 of them (5 boys and 1 girl). Here are a few things we have learned about 5-year-olds since we have been teaching them:

1. They are honest. We know things their parents probably don't want us to know about them.
2. They are smart. You may think they aren't listening, but they are.
3. They love Jesus.
4. They love to color
5. 1 hour of class is a long time to sit still. In fact, the picture above doesn't represent our class quite right, its more like this:

Way to Go Ryan!

I have to brag a little bit about my awesome husband today. He has worked for a great company, inContact, for 5 years now. Since he has been there, he has moved up very quickly by proving his skills and leadership abilities. A few weeks ago, he went to Las Vegas with his company for their annual Sales Kick-off Meeting. During this meeting, they announce their top performers in the company and give out awards. Before he left, I asked him if he thought he'd win any awards, and he said no he didn't think so because he won a few years back. After his first day of meetings, he called me to tell me that we are going to Mexico because he won the Champion's Club Award. All of the employees that earn the Champion's Club or President's Club Awards get to go on an all-expenses paid trip. And the best part is, he gets to take someone with him. Lucky me! So we get to go back to Mexico after all, we will be heading to Playa del Carmen in April with the other company winners.

When he got home from his trip, he also was awarded Employee of the Month for November and got a cash prize.

I am so proud of Ryan and his dedication and hard work. He has such a strong work ethic and is a man of integrity. Everyone I have met that he works with has nothing but good things to say about him. I can see how much he cares about the people that he manages and is a great advocate for them. I am so proud of him for all that he has accomplished and will accomplish in the future. I am thankful that he works hard to provide for me and our future family. He is such a great man and I am proud to be his wifey.

Oh and I'm especially grateful for the great company that he works for that truly appreciates the hard work their employees put in, and I'm excited for our trip to Mexico! I can't wait for a little more of this:
