Thanksgiving Weekend in Sanpete

This year for Thanksgiving, we went to Sanpete to enjoy the holiday with my family. We took Ryan's mom, Trish, along with us for the adventure. It's always nice and relaxing when we go to my Grandparents house. We had our Thanksgiving dinner at the Sterling Town Hall since our family is all grown up. We sat around, ate LOTS of yummy food, played lots of cards, did some online shopping, went shooting, and had a great time together. I love spending time with my family...that's what the holidays are all about. What a great weekend. Oh...and Ryan spoiled me with my own shotgun!

Thankful

With Thanksgiving and the Holiday season upon us, it seems everyone, myself included, focus more on the things we are thankful for. I think this is such a great thing to do, in fact, I think it should be done even more often than once a year. I think we should all live a grateful life!
On the bad days, you know, the days that nothing seems to go right, if I try to focus on the things I am grateful for, it's crazy how much better I feel. Just taking a step back to focus on the good, rather than the bad will do wonders.

But anyhoo, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I thought I'd list a few things I am especially grateful for this year...

#1 My Husband.  Ryan is such a huge blessing in my life. He is so so patient with me and forgives me on the days I'm not at my best. He is always on board and good to help me with all of my crazy projects around the house, I'm amazed at what we've accomplished together this past year. He works so hard to support our family and was so supportive of me while I was looking for a new job. He makes me laugh, and he makes life great. I love him so much.

#2 Our Family. I cannot express how thankful I am to have our families so close by and such a huge part of our lives. My parents, Ryan's parents and siblings all live within 10 minutes of us and I love being able to run over and visit whenever I need a Charlotte snuggle, or stopping by just to say hi. My parents have been such great teachers (and helpers) with all of our building projects. I love spending time with our families, they just make everything better.

#3 Our Fireplace. I know this may seem to be small luxury, but oh man I am so thankful for it. Growing up, I always wished we had a fireplace to curl up next to on a cold winter night. And now, we got our fireplace working in our house this year, and I have enjoyed every minute of it. There's just something cozy about having the fireplace on while we snuggle up and watch a movie.

#4 Amazon. I know, I know, this one seems lame. But really, I'm way too impatient to stand in line for 5 hours and fight the crowds to do my shopping (and especially on black Friday). So the fact that Amazon has like everything, cheaper, and with free 2-day shipping... it makes holiday shopping a little less stressful. I love Amazon Prime :)

Okay, well theres about a million more things I am thankful for, but it would take all day to list them. So in the spirit of being grateful, HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I'm excited to head to Sanpete county for a little R&R, yummy food and family time.

Halloween Party at Hinton Manor

Last weekend we hosted a Halloween Party for a bunch of our married friends. We thought it would be fun to have a reason to dress up in costumes and get together! I love Halloween, it's such a fun holiday with lots of fun decorations and costumes. We had a costume contest, a photo booth and some games too.

We loved seeing so many of our friends. It seems the older we get, the busier we get and the less we are able to see our friends. It is always fun catching up with everyone! We hope to make this an annual tradition at the Hinton Manor.

Labor Day in Park City

This year for Labor Day we stayed at a condo up in Park City with Ryan's family. It was so much fun to spend some time up in the beautiful mountains and get away for the weekend. We got there Friday night, settled in and went to dinner at a Mexican restaurant with everyone.
Then on Saturday, the girls went to Swiss Days in Midway while the boys went golfing. Swiss Days was so packed, but was so much fun. I got so many cute craft ideas and bought a few things too. Saturday night we were all pretty exhausted so we got pizza and played games and watched a movie at the condo.
On Sunday morning, we made breakfast and then the boys played in the pool for a bit before we went to a park to play tennis. We had fun watching the boys play a pretty competitive game. Later that day we went up to the Park City resort and went down the Alpine Slide and did some mini golfing. What a beautiful time of year up in the mountains!
On Monday morning, we packed up our stuff and headed to the Outlets for a fun day of shopping before we headed back home. I am one of those lucky girls that has a husband that loves shopping as much as I do.  Surprisingly, he can out shop me most of the time!
It turned out to be a perfect weekend. We love spending time with our family and it's always fun to have an extra long weekend too.
